SOUTH BEND - Susan L. Austin, 41, of 741 S. Ironwood Drive, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Miss Austin was a former teacher for the South Bend Community School Corp. She was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Mishawaka. She is survived by her parents, Nellie and Harvey Austin of South Bend.

She was a graduate of Bethel College and Indiana University South Bend. She was a member of the National Education Association and Indiana State Teachers Association and was superintendent of Junior Church programs and the Women's Missionary Society, both of Southside General Baptist Church, Mishawaka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka.
