Otis Armentrout

Otis Armentrout, 86, of 55451 Meadowview, died at 7 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.  He was retired from the Bendix Corp.  He was born on March 24, 1896 in Stonington, Ill, and lived in South Bend for 45 years after coming from LaPorte.  His wife, the former Minervia McCarty, died in 1973.  Surviving are three daughters, Miss Velma Armentrout and Mrs. Rose Kepplin, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Ethel Thomas of Chicago; a son, Otis of LaPorte; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, with Rev. Kenneth R. Hemphill, pastor of Olive Chapel United Church of Christ, officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
