Odious B. Armentrout

Feb. 17, 1919 - July 29, 1994

NEW CARLISLE - Odious B. ''Odie'' Armentrout, 75, of 7751 N. Oriole Lane, died about 10:45 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Armentrout was employed at Indiana Harbor as a longshoreman for 14 years. He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in LaCrosse and moved to New Carlisle eight years ago from LaPorte.

 

On July 27, 1946, in Mishawaka, he married Ione B. Hull. She survives with three daughters, Sue Whitman and Gail Flinchum, both of New Carlisle, and Laura Montemayor of Mishawaka; two sons, Mike and Jon Hull, both of LaPorte; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Rosie Kepplin and Velma Armentrout, both of South Bend, and Ethel Thoms of Chicago. A son, Edward Hull, a grandson and a great-grandson all preceded him in death. Mr. Armentrout was a member of Rolling Prairie Masonic Lodge 291. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte. Burial will be in Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and until services Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
