Edwin E. Arelt Sr., 75, of Mishawaka, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2006, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Edwin was born on November 30, 1930, to Frank and Clara (Patulski) Arelt.
On February 3, 1951, he married Therese, who survives, along with their son, Edwin E. (Charlene) Arelt Jr. of North Liberty; granddaughter, Angie Ann (Richard) Bisnauth of North Liberty, great-granddaughter, Autumn Nicole Graves; siblings, Edwadine (Art) Kalicki of South Bend, Irene (Floyd) Smith of Granger, IN, Virginia (Henry) Werwas of South Bend, Eileen (Allyn) Dowd of Sterling Heights, MI, and Esther Hilarides; and 12 nephews and nieces. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Arelt; a brother-in-law, Al Hilarides; and by two grandsons, Steven and Dennis Arelt. Edwin was a good hunter and fisherman.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 24, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S, Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on November 24, 2006. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
