South Bend - Mrs. Edith Archer, 86, who lived with her niece, Mrs. Robert Frame, at 1118 Portage, died at 9:24 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Medical Center. She was a partner in the A & K Food Distributing Company in South Bend. Born Sept. 23, 1895 in Mishawaka, she was a lifetime resident of this area.

On Nov. 25, 1919 in Mishawaka, she married Richard F. Archer, who died in 1958. Survivors include a son, Richard F. Jr. of Germany; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Grace Uhl of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Wendell, CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Welscheimer Funeral Home. She was a member of the church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
