SOUTH BEND - Alexander Arch, 70, of South Taylor Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, in Hospice House, South Bend. Mr. Arch was born on Feb. 4, 1927, and lived in South Bend all of his life. He retired from RACO. Mr. Arch was a Navy veteran of World II.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Paul D.) Bittle of South Bend; a son, Alexander S. (Katherine) Arch, of Ft. Worth, Texas; his mother, Julia Arch of South Bend; two grandsons, Alexander S. Arch, Jr., and Paul Bittle; four granddaughters, Tammy L. Cain, Dawn A. Guzowski, Christy-Lynne M. Arch and Amanda L. Bittle; one great-grandson, Zachary Cain; three sisters, Mary Pilar and Margaret Smigielski, both of South Bend, and Yolanda Roush of Plymouth, Ind.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
