Aranowski

SOUTH BEND - Patricia Aranowski, 81, passed away on Saturday,
June 12th, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South
Bend. She was born on November 21, 1928, in South Bend, to the
late Valentine and Valentina (Kaminski) Melczek. Patricia
attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from South Bend
Central High School in 1946. On May 28, 1949, as Patrica Melczek,
she married Donald J. Aranowski, who survives. Along with her
husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Lynn (Marc)
Caenepeel of Hendersonville, NC, and Victoria (Joseph) Pietrucha
of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Jason and Bryan Caenepeel, Mary
and Jodie Pietrucha; a sister-in-law, Ann Aranowski of South
Bend; and by her niece, Cynthia Melczek of Gahanna, OH. She was
preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, Robert
Melczek. Mrs. Aranowski worked for Carlton Computations as a
proof reader for 20 years. Patricia was a parishioner of Holy
Cross Catholic Church and was a member of St. Hedwig's Golden
Cluster. She loved to go to Middlebury and the Amish country of
Shipshewanna. Patricia was a very social person who had many good
friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to go
shopping for clothing and jewelry. Patricia also loved taking her
grandchildren to Cubs games and amusement parks. Visitation will
be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, in the Kaniewski Funeral
Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed
at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10
a.m. on Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with cremation
to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Healthwin
Specialized Care Facility, 20531 Darden Road, South Bend, IN
46637; or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.,
111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN. The family would like to
