Joy R. Andrews, 81, of Jackson Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, in the Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Joy was born on Nov. 12, 1917, in Milford, Ind., to the late Maude and Rosco Rush.
On Aug. 21, 1937, as Joy R. Rush, she married Arthur E. Andrews in Michigan. He also preceded her in death in September 1993. Joy is survived by two daughters, Colleen C. Andrews of South Bend and Sevilla L. Ayers of Mishawaka; a son, Gary A. (Nancy) Andrews of Bristol, Ind.; five grandchildren, Tim C. Ayers of Mishawaka, Shawn J. Andrews of South Bend, Jenna N. Andrews of Bristol, Sarah A. Andrews of Colombia, Mich., and Chase C. Andrews of Bristol; two great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Sevilla Shirk and Marguerite May, both of Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf officiating. Burial will take place in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Joy was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
