Mell Family Photo's

The Mell family came to St. Joseph County before 1918. They settled in South Bend and have been here ever since.

Wilbur William Mell was born 09 Mar 1898, in Vandilia, Michigan, the son of Muriel Mell and Vada C. Wilbur came to South Bend sometime around 1918 where he filled out his draft card for WWI.

On 14 Feb 1919, in South Bend Wilbur married Adelia Pearl Blue, born 22 Jun 1899, in South Bend, the daughter of George Washington Blue and Adelia Jesse Walker. Wilbur owned a Grocery here in South Bend.

To this union there were three children born: Wilbur William jr., Robert Carol, and Winifred Loraine. All are still living in South Bend.

Wilbur passed away on 13 Feb 1965 and is buried in the Chapel Hill Cemetery and Adelia, aka: Pearl, died 15 Mar 1988, she is buried with Wilbur.

Wilbur Jr. married Margaret Kauffman and they have three children

Robert, never married and he is retired

Winifred married Paul J. Vanden Bossche and they have four children
