Joseph S and Mariana J (Chmielewski) Turczynski Family  

Joseph was born March 04, 1874 in Terre Coupe, the son of Joseph Turczynski who emigrated with his family from Prussian Poland. They were farmers by vocation. On November 08, 1899 he will marry the former Mariana Joespha Chmielewski born in Wasosz, Zninski, Prussian Poland the daughter of Michael & Mary (Szczodrowski) Chmielewski early Polish pioneers in the Terre Coupe area.   The photo of Joseph and Mary was taken in 1911 at the wedding of Mary's sister Hattie to Joseph Zbieranski. The back of my photo says they reside at the corner of Linden and Studebaker Streets in South Bend. Two children will be born to this union Clara and Irene. Joseph will spend his career at Bendix Corporation Dept 22. He will retire in 1952 and will pass a year later. Mary will follow him May 30, 1967. They rest in St Joseph's Cemetery.
