The L. A. “Lottie”  Kolupa and Lottie Wachowski Family

 

Wladyslaw “Lottie”  Alex Kolupa  was born in 1883 the son of Anton and Wiladyslawa Lottie (Majewski) Kolupa in South Bend Indiana. His family originates in Ludomska Dabrowska, Prussian Poland and immigrates to South Bend in 1881. His father Anton is a blacksmith and one of the organizers of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Anton will pass in 1949 and his wife will preceed him in 1943.

 

In 1909 Lottie will marry Lottie Wachowski at St Stanislaus church and they will reside on College street. Lottie will attend the Notre Dame Pharmacy school and operate Kolupa Drugs on Western and Chapin until 1965. (See Pioneers Section). The union will give birth to six children who survive to adulthood. Lottie will pass in 1978 and his wife will preceed him in 1969

 

Their first son Edward born in 1911 will marry Harriet Piechorowska (my fathers sister) in 1933 at St. Adalberts Church. She will pass of a brain tumor in 1955 and he will follow in 1972. A daughter Suzanne is born to the union in 1933.
