The Peter & Agnes (Cholacz) Andrysiak Family  

Peter was born November 14, 1866 in Elizewo, Kujawsko Pomorskie, Posen, the eldest son of Valentine "Walenty" &  Frances (Nowak) Andrysiak. He emigrated to the USA in 1882 accompanied by his parents and siblings.   On November 25, 1905 he married the former Agnes Cholacz at St Casimirs Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana. The family  resides at 841 So. Liberty, they are parishioners of St Adalbert's  Catholic Church. Peter will make his living as a coal dealer on the west side of the city. The marriage is blessed with nine children, Frank (1905), Bert (1907), Stanislae  Agnetum  (1908), Peter ( 1909), Helen (1910), Pearl (1912), Bertha (1915), John (1918), Joseph (1921).   Peter will pass at home December 10, 1928 following a two month illness, Agnes will follow in 1964 after an illness of a year. They rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.


The William V. (Andershock) Andrysiak & Rosalia Szypiorski Family   William Valentine Andrysiak was born to Jakub and Marianne (Cholewinska)  Andrysiak about 1843 in Rzemieniewice, Szaradowo Parish Church, Posen. In 1867 he will marry Rozalia Szypiorski in the Church of sw. Mikolaja at Szaradowo. Rozalia is an extended member of the same Szypiorski family that will settle in Terre Coupee. The marriage will bear three children two of which will survive to adulthood.  In June of 1870 they will come to America on the S.S. Elena, Bremen to NYC (Castle Garden). They will settle on a farm near Chesterton, Porter County, Indiana and attend St Mary's Church at Otis, Indiana and later St. Patricks. During this time they will Americanize the original name to Andershock.  William will die in 1917 at the age of 74 while working in his fields and Rozalia will follow in 1926.

Since no family picture exist they are remembered by their wedding certificate from the Archive in Gniezno, Poland

The Jozef &  Antonia (Banach) Andrysiak Family  

Jozef Andrysiak was born February 22, 1851 in Suchorecz, Kujawsko / Pomorskie,  Posen the youngest son of Casimir Marianne (Kujawa) Andrysiak. Jozef was the younger brother of Walenty and the Uncle of Peter (listed above), Lawrence in Otis was also a brother. They were tenet farmers in Poland and emigrated to the USA in 1884.  

On November 08, 1874 in the Parish Church at Szaradowo, Poland he marries the former Antonia Banach the daughter of Stanislaw & Michalina (Mrozinska) Banach of the nearby village of Slonay, Szaradowo Parish, Posen. The marriage will be blessed with twelve children Michael (1875), Bronislaus (1877), Catherina (1879), Katherine (1880), Mary (1881), Hattie (1883), Casimir (1885), Francesca (1887), Sophia (1889), Carrie (1891), Stanley (1893), Helen (1897).  

The family will reside at 717 So. Walnut, are members of St. Casimirs Parish and Jozef is employed as a laborer at Studebaker's. Jozef will pass in 1932 after a three month illness of Pneumonia, Antonia will follow in 1937 of Arteriosclerosis. They rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery.  

 

Hattie Andrysiak Glon & Helen Andrysiak Leets

Helen Andrysiak Leets was born May 9, 1897 in South Bend. She was a seamstress and former employee of  Wilson Brothers Shirts and a lifelong area resident. On May 11, 1924 she married Louis Leets who passed in 1962. She will pass March 31, 1988 at the age of 90. She is survived by her two sons Wilford and Robert. She rests in St Josephs Cemetery
