Joseph and Katherine (Sosinski) Herman Family  

Joseph Herman was born March, 1840 in Wongrowitz, (Prussia) Poland and died December 31, 1901 in Bronson, Branch, MI .  He arrived in the USA on June 16,1871.  His wife Katherine Sosinski, was born  in November 1841 near Wongrowitz (Prussia) Poland and  died in 1921 at Bronson, Branch, MI. 
Joseph and Katharine arrived with 3 of their children, Michael (1865-1945) , George (1868) and Mary (1869).  They had 6 more children in the United States. Their son Michael married Victoria Sikorski  in (1867), they are my great grandparents. They lived in Matteson, MI.  George Herman  married Pearl Smoker (1875).  They lived in Bronson and Matteson, MI.  Mary Herman married Michael Wotta (1862) and they also lived in Matteson. The child in the photo is Magdalena born in 1887, who will marry Michael Wroblewski in South Bend May 15, 1905.   Additional information on the Herman family in Michigan and Indiana may be found in the "Ladewski Papers" section of this site.
