VOID PATCH MIX -- When you have missing stone fragments and edges to fill. Dry fit the pieces together and, with a pencil, mark all the contact points. This is where you use epoxy to join the fragments. It does not take a lot of epoxy to just stick the pieces such as these together. Walt recommends Tenex & Mastico epoxy along with clamps to start.
When securing the pieces together, fill the Voids with a mortar mix made up of:
Use duct tape to tape the back side of the stone, forming up the sides of the void with small pieces of wood, clamping the wood to the stone. If the void is not too big, use duct tape. Then fill the void with the above mortar mix, using different colors of powered grout to color the mortar mix for a decent match to the rest of the stone. |
