The circular sign near the dark post on left says "Red Jacket Cider," while the dark bottles are labeled "Monarch Pickles." Reid, Murdoch & Company is known to have been a Monarch brand distributor. Reverse of postcard indicates that photograph is from Hammond.

REMARK: Once located at the southeast corner of present day Calumet Avenue and 150th Street, the Hammond Distilling Company was established in December 1902. The plant had a capacity of up to 25,000 gallons of whiskey a day, but was forced to close in 1917 due to prohibition.
