Porter County Naturalizations Index

These naturalization records were originally kept in the Porter County Courthouse at Valparaiso. The records were then transferred to the Porter County Historical Society where they were kept until the State of Indiana announced that all books would be taken to the State Historical Library in Indianapolis in order to be microfilmed.

The Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society received permission to bring the books to the Porter County Public Library in Valparaiso before they were to be taken to Indianapolis. The Porter County Public Library donated the use of it’s photocopy machine so that copies could be made and stored in their Genealogical Room.

You can obtain naturalization records from the Porter County Public Library in Valparaiso by completing the Naturalization Request Form. This index is also available in a hardcopy published format and can be ordered via our Publications Order Form.
