Weirich, Hattie (Norris) -  #1 - Mrs. Hattie Weirich, daughter of Samuel Norris, of Pashan, took poison Tuesday evening and died about 12 o'clock, midnight.  She had been married about a month. - Source: LaGrange Standard, LaGrange, Indiana, March 27, 1890    #2 - "GONE TO HER DEATH" - The Standard's Shipshewana correspondent announces the death by suicide, Tuesday night of Hattie E., wife of John J. Weirich.  She was the daughter of Samuel Norris, of Pashan.  Her marriage was solemnized a few weeks ago after the groom had been brought back from Pennsylvania, whither he had gone to escape the responsibilities of  matrimony.  According to the reports we have received, her husband then deserted her, and she made her home with her parents.  Though married, the circumstances were such as to weigh heavily upon her mind, and finally led her to take poison to escape those censorious judgments which the author of her misfortune was able to avoid by changing his residence.  If what scanty information reaches us is correct, her unfaithful husband deserves to suffer the full penalty provided for such conduct. - LaGrange Standard, LaGrange, In., March 27, 1890

Wilson, Elizabeth (Amsbaugh) Doe - At the home of John W. Brayton, of Clearspring Township, March 21, 1882, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson died, aged 74 years. Mrs. Wilson's maiden name was Elizabeth Amsbaugh. She was born in Erie County, PA. in 1807 and moved to this County with her parents at an early age. In 1825 she was married to William Doe. After his death in 1846, she remained a widow 5 years and then married George Wilson, who died 11 years ago. At 3 o'clock in the morning of the 21st, she died as one falling asleep, after selecting the text for her funeral---Romans 8: 25-27. Mrs. Wilson leaves 2 sons and 4 daughters to mourn her loss. “ Mother, the ebbing tide of years, hath borne thee on till now; Thine eyes are dimmed with many tears, and wrinkled is thy brow; Yet, since thy girlhood's happy days, It's beauty and its grace, as painted now in memory's rays, there seems but little space.  A patient, loving mother, thou, Through each long weary year,  Crown resteth not on human brow, Richer than thou dost wear; The hero of the battlefield, The saint of cloistered shade, To such as thee must ever yield, All honors to them paid.  To calmly suffer, bravely do The pains and toils of life, To be to every duty true Of mother and of wife, Is honor victor never knew who joined the battle's strife.  Too soon the passing years will bear, To some pure world of light thy spirit, where the pain and care that fill our earthly night  Dim not the crown that all shear wear. Who walk in raiment white, But soon we all wilt gather there, With loved ones passed from sight. – Source Nancy Downey from the “LaGrange Standard” LaGrange, Indiana -  March 1882"

She left Sacramento, California at midnight Saturday and arrived at Chicago Sunday at 3:45 P.M. after 14 hours in the air. She made the trip in a Boeing plane of the United Airlines and will return home in the same manner after two weeks here.
