Friend, Arta (Hart) -  who married James Friend on Feb. 7, 1890, was found on her kitchen floor in convulsions.  She died a day later and left one child, 13 months old.  She was only 19 years old and was the older sister of Bert Hart." - From Lela Hart Stanner, daughter of Bert Hart, Source: LaGrange,  Standard Microfilm, no date was given.     #2  Mrs. James Friend, who lived six miles east of town, on the Billman farm, died under peculiarly sad circumstances Wednesday  at one o'clock p.m.  Some time in the forenoon of Tuesday, while her husband was away at work, she became sick, it is believed, through the self administration of some powerful drug, thought to be oil of tansy, but probably not with intent to commit suicide.  Neighbors who called, found her on the floor in convulsions on account of her severe contortions of body.  Her little 16 months baby, having strewn the floor with everything it could reach in attempts to amuse itself and sat by its mother, patting her face.  The unfortunate woman was unconscious and remained so until she died the next day.  Dr. Wyatt was called but found it impossible, sometime having been elapsed since the convulsions began, to render any aid.  Mrs. Friend was only nineteen years old. - "The LaGrange Standard," LaGrange, Ind., Feb., 19, 1892
