Looking for informaiton on Theodore and Alice OLNEY GRAY, who were in Lagrange Co., IN 1881. A child was born 19 May 1881. They were from Ross Co., OH. Records show they moved to Newaygo Co., MI, and back to Ross Co., OH after 1885. Alice was the neice of John OLNEY, b 1800 Washington Co., OH marr Esther SMITH, lived and died in Lagrange Co., IN. Looking for connections to and information about MILLER family in LaGrange County. Jacob MILLER and wife Elizabeth came to LaGrange County in 1830, from Highland County, Ohio, and before that, it is said, from Pennsylvania. Jacob died in 1838 in LaGrange County. Some of their children remained in the area, including Adam MILLER (1825-1899) who married Nancy VANAUSDAL(E). Any information welcome.

Update to previous query. SWARTZWALTER-HOLMES Still seeking information on Edith Alma SWARTZWALTER buried in Ontario Cemetery in 1960s. Particularly her parents and other brothers & sisters. Also, I finally located Ora D. HOLMES born Indiana on 4 July 1876; died 20 Dec 1933 in Jackso, Michigan. He had remarried to a Floy Edith (maiden name unknown). His father is listen as Oran HOLMES born Howe, LaGrange County. Mother was Katherine Stine. Seeking information on these individuals.

I would like information on the Sloan family which lived in the Lagrange area in the 1850's. The fathers name was Robert Sloan married to Betsy Marie Arnold. They had three sons, Allen, Wesley, Spencer. These sons left Lagrange around March of 1860 with their father settleling in Praire City, Kansas. These four gentleman are listed in the June 1860 Kansas census without the mother's name.

I am looking for information on Charles W. Chapin married to Maria Shoup on July 19, 1846 in LaGrange Co., IN Charles moved to Indiana in 1844 and settled in Lima, IN (Now the town of Howe, IN) in 1846 and was the Justice of the Peace in LaGrange from 1867 to 1877. He and his family moved to Fremont, In in 1877. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would like to find names of his and Maria's parents and siblings if possible. Robert KILBURY,(1774-1858) son of John and Zerviah KILBURY of Dummerston, VT, married Sarah SHAW in Greenfield, Saratoga Co., NY and eventually settled in LaGrange Co, IN, about 1836. They had 3 or 4 of their 6 children with them: 1)Olive, b 1799, m Daniel MURVIN, then --NORTON, died 1875 in town of LaGrange, LaGrange Co. 2) Andrew, b 1801, died 1879 in Hills Corner, LaGrange Co., 3) Caty, b 1803, m B. UPSON, died 1872 in Oakland, MI. All but Caty and wife Sarah are buried in Plato Cemetery, LaGrange Co. I am interested in contacting descendants of these families and confirming the burials. I am looking for information on the Klingaman family. I have a picture of "The Old Klingaman Homestead" in I believe Van Buren township. There is a family cemetary on the land with gravesite for John KLingaman. I believe that it is somewhere near Middlebury.

Any information regarding Joshua CATON and any relatives in the Elkart and Lagrange counties. Joshua died according to the family bible in 1895. His wife Catharine died in 1923.

I am trying to research my Great Great Grandfather who died in Lima, LaGrange, IN. I don't know the exact date just his name as Paul Rhoads who was born 1822 in Westmorland, PA and married in PA to Mary Amanda, they had a child Ellen Ann Rhodes who was born 2 5 1857 in Lima LaGrange, Indiana and died 7-11-1923 in St. Regis, MT. Do you have any information at all on Paul Rhoads or Ellen Ann Rhodes? or Mary Amanda? I'm not sure if Amanda is her last name or middle name. I really appreciate anything you could help me with I am at a dead end with researching this info. Thanks So Much, Carolyn Davis
