Mrs. Mary Alberta Dunbar Burgess, age 46, wife of John K. Burgess, died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. D. W. Burgess, on north Eleventh Street, following an illness extending over five years. Although in failing health, Mrs. Burgess' condition did not become critical until last Thursday night. Since her condition had declined rapidly. Mrs. Burgess was born in Mt. Summit and was a lifelong resident of Henry County. She as the daughter of John W. Dunbar and Sarah Elizabeth Dunbar. She as reared and received the major part of her education in the Mt. Summit neighborhood. She was united in marriage to John K. Burgess of New Castle on March 14, 1895, and to their union three children were born, they are two daughters, Bernice and Edna, and one son, John D., all of whom reside at home. Besides the immediate family, Mrs. Burgess is also survived by two sisters and a number of distant relatives, all living in Henry County. The sisters are Mrs. Caldwell, and Mrs. Frank Houchkirsch both of New Castle. The funeral will be held at the home on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Baker in charge. Interment will take place at South Mound cemetery. Friends wishing to view the remains may call at the home from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, or from 8 to 11 am. on Friday.
