SARAH ANN RENSBERGER-HESS
Gospel Messenger, Feb. 25, 1922 - In Memory of our Departed Sister Hess
Sarah Ann Hess, nee Rensberger, was born Sept. 6, 1861, near St. Paul, Minn. She moved to Kosciusko County, Ind. With her parents, Brother Wm. And Sister Rachel Holsinger Rensberger, at the age of 3 years. Coming from Holsinger and Rensberger parentage (which families were always prominently affiliated with the Church of the Brethren), she was raised in the Bethany congregation and received into that church by baptism at the age of 18.
Jan. 1, 1888, she was united in marriage to Henry B. Hess. Earl in their married life they settled in Goshen, Ind. Where with a handful of other members, they started a mission. It grew rapidly and by hard labor they obtained a new churchhouse about 6 years later.
In 1897, a Sisters' Aid Society was organized, of which she was a charter member. In 1901 she became its President and served as such 4 years. A number of years later she again became President, and after serving several more years, was finally relieved because of ill health. Later she became Treasurer of the same organization and was holding this office at the time God called her home. She was a constant teacher in the Sunday school - her younger years being divided between a class of young ladies and classes of boys in the intermediate dept. During her later years she was interested in all the activities of the church, and always found time to visit the sick and aged. During sorrow and death in the church or community, she could always be relied upon for sympathy and service. Such loyalty to her church will cause her to be sorely missed. She was also a constant attendant at prayer meeting and a member of such classes as teacher training and special Bible study, holding several diplomas for these studies.
During the last 5 years of her life she was a patient sufferer from diabetes. July 4, 1921, she received a sever shock through the tragic shock of her son-in-law, Frederick Phend, who resided at her home. This, together with her constantly failing health, hastened the few remaining days of Sister Hess. She died 2 � weeks later, July 21, 1921, leaving her husband, 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 2 grandchildren. Burial at Baintertown cemetery.

VIOLET REPLOGLE
Nov. 25, 1992 - Goshen News Paper
Violet Replogle, 84, 23453 C.R. 42 Goshen, died at 7:49am Monday in the emergency room in Goshen Hospital.
She was born Feb. 11, 1908, in Michigan. She was a homemaker, member of Englewood Dunkard Brethren Church, Ohio and attended Dunkard Brethren Church
of Goshen.
Surviving included her husband, George Edward; three daughters, Eleanor Paker of Goshen, Retha Corbin of Joliet, IL and Nacy Schlafman of Ludlow Falls, OH;
two sons, Elgin of Goshen and Thomas of Tipp City; 23 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; and two brothers, Don Adams of Goshen, and J.D.
Adams of Columbus, OH. Two daughters and a grandchild proceeded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm today at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home. West Milton, OH. Services will be 1:30pm Friday at Englewood Dunkard Brethren
Church. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

MRS. ELIZABETH REYNOLDS
Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds, 68, died at her home at New Paris at 4:00 yesterday afternoon. Death was caused by pneumonia following an illness of 9 days duration. The deceased was born in Franklin county, Pa. in 1862, and moved to this county with her parents in 1875. She has been a resident of this county since that date.
She is survived by her husband, John m. Reynolds, a daughter, Mrs. Irvin R. Eggert of Fort Wayne; a brother, DJ Smith of North Webster; a sister, Mrs. Ed Law of Montpelier, Ohio and 2 grandchildren. Funeral at the New Paris ME church at 2:30, burial in New Paris cemetery.

MRS. NANCY JANE REYNOLDS
The Grave - Mrs. Nancy Jane Reynolds, wife of Alexander Reynolds, of Benton, died suddenly Saturday night after suffering a stroke of apoplexy. Her age was 72 ears, 7 months and 21 days. Her first husband, Joseph Wilson, died many years ago. She leaves a husband, 3 sons and 2 daughters, Wm. Wilson, of Kendallville, Mrs. Emily Platt, of Howard City, Mich., John Reynolds of this village, Mrs. Lee Cripe, of Benton, and Frank Reynolds of Goshen. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Tuesday morning, Rev. D. Hygema officiating. Interment in New Paris cemetery.

MRS. ORVIE RICHCREEK
GOSHEN NEWS, OCTOBER 13, 1989
Mrs. Lottie J. Richcreek, 93, 53618 Mark Drive, Bristol, died at 11 a.m. Thursday in her home. She was born Oct. 26, 1895, in Cass Co., and was married Nov. 15, 1919, in Warsaw, to Orvie W. Richcreek. He died May 13, 1958.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gerald ( Dorothy ) Hohman, Bristol; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a grandson, two sisters, and three brothers including Kenneth B. Mock who died today.
She lived in the Bristol area 34 years, was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Brethren denomination. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Clarence Fike, Brethren emeritus pastor, will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine.

DEVON F. RICHMOND
Nappanee- Devon F. Heinie Richmond, 74, of 554 N. Clark St. died suddenly at 4:45 a.m. today at his home.
He was a fire chief of the Nappanee Fire Dept.for 14 years and a member of the dept. from 1934 to 1960. He also retired in 1970 after 48 years with Mutschler Bros. Recently he worked part time in maintenance at the Nappanee Municipal Building and with Jim Moore Motors.
He was born June 26, 1904 in Nappanee, he married Hazel Grant Dec. 23, 1922, in Nappanee, she survives with two daughters, Mrs. James (Jean) Stillson, Nappanee; and Mrs. George (Pat) Sheets, Milford Rt.2; son Tom, Nappanee; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son, two sisters,and four brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wright-Yoder Funeral Home where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Alvin Shifflett will officiate. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery. He was a member of the church.

JOHN RINK
MORTUARY RECORD
John Rink, son of Jacob and Catherine Rink, was born in Benton Township, Feb. 16, 1844;
died at his home two miles northwest of Millersburg March 22, 1922, from infirmities of
old age, aged 78 years, 1 month and 8 days.
He received his education in the common schools and when 18 years of age he was drafted in the army in October, 1862, and served nine months and a few days.
He was united in marriage to Alice Hoffman August 20, 1865. To this union was born four
sons. William H. and Jacob F. of Millersburg (living), and Aldo and Perry (deceased).
Their mother also preceded him in death, Aug. 9, 1879. Also surviving are four brothers,
Michael,
William and James of Millersburg and Dan of Goshen, ten grandchildren and sixteen
great-grandchildren.
He was remarried to Anna Borger Feb. 16, 1881. She departed this life April 16, 1914. There were no children of this union. Deceased was a life long member of the Catholic church. The funeral was held from the Reformed church on Monday afternoon, Rev. Schroer officiating. Burial in Brown's cemetery.

SEBASTIAN RINK
NECROLOGY
Sebastian (better known as Boston or Jim) Rink, 79, died Thursday night at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. John L. Steele, in Goshen, following a lingering illness. He was a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rink, now deceased, who were pioneer residents of this neighborhood. He
was born on the Rink homestead just north of Millersburg, Feb. 7, 1850. When he grew to
manhood he was married to Josephine Massey a daughter of John Massey, Benton township
pioneer mill operator. Mrs. Rink preceded him in death 30 years ago.
They located on a farm in Benton township, where Mrs. Rink died. Before leaving the farm he remarried and about 10 years ago he and his wife and daughter moved to Goshen. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Milford.
Surviving are his wife and daughter, two brothers, William F. and Michael B. of Millersburg and numerous other relatives. The funeral service was held at the home also at the Reformed Church in Millersburg Sunday and burial was made in Brown's Cemetery.

OSCAR RINK
Mrs. Oscar Rink, 23, died at the Goshen hospital Wednesday of complications following a
six week illness. Her husband, two sons and a daughter survive.

JACOB B. RINK
OBITUARY: Jacob B. Rink, son of Geo Rink, was found dead in bed at his home north of
Millersburg between 6 and 7 o'clock Saturday morning. Death resulted from heart
failure. He had been ailing for over two years but his condition was at no time considered
dangerous. His sudden demise came as a sudden shock to his relatives and friends.
Deceased was born in Noble county in 1847 and when quite young removed with his parents
to Elkhart county where he resided until death. In 1875 deceased was united in marriage to
Sarah E.Chiddister, who still survives him. Fourteen children were born to this union,
eleven of whom
are living, five boys, viz: Frank, David, Jacob, George and Samuel: and six girls, Mrs.
George Bowman, Mrs. Ed Taylor, Mrs. Logan Chrisman, Misses Eva, Blanche and Lela. Two
brothers, George and Anthony, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Moslander and Mrs. Cass
Swinehart, also survive him.
The funeral was held from the Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Rev. John Lehman officiating. Burial in Brown's cemetery.

THE MILLERSBURG GRIT, THURSDAY FEB 22, 1900
DEATH OF GEORGE JACOB RINK
George Jacob Rink died at his late home one half mile north of Millersburg. Thursday
evening Feb. 15, 1900 from general debility attendant with old age.
Deceased was born in Bavaria, Germany June 22, 1820, he was here for 79yrs, 5 months, and 23 days. He received his education in the common schools of Germany, attending from the time he was five years of age until he reached thirteen.
In 1836, when sixteen years of age, he came to America to seek his fortune, locating in Elkhart county a poor boy in 1837. He preempted a tract of government land and set about to improve it so that it would yield an income. By hard work he succeeded and as the country became more thickly settled his lands grew in value.
He married Jan. 27, 1840 to Catherine Kline, who preceded him to the spirit land thirteen years ago lacking just ten hours. They were the parents of nine children, seven of whom are still living - Anthony, John, George, Boston, Daniel, Michael,and William- who reside within a radius of twenty miles from the old homestead. Mr. Rink gave each of his sons an 80 acre farm and they have all proven themselves as industrious as their father, and have added to their possessions.
Deceased had been in poor health for several years and during the past year had failed
rapidly and his friends realized that his stay on earth was limited and they were prepared
for the worst. He had made his home with his son, George, for a number of years. Mr. Rink
was an honorable
citizen and a member of the Catholic church. He was one of the pillars here and
contributed literally toward the building of the church.
The funeral was held from the Catholic church Monday, and was attended by a large concourse of people, the church being crowded to its utmost capacity the services, assisted by the Rev. Fathers Thiele and Noll.
The remains of Mr. Rink were interred in Brown's Cemetery, south of town.

DEVON E. RISSER
Elkhart- Devon E. Risser, 77 of 62594 Ind. 19, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday Sept. 28, 1995 in Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1918 in Harrison Twp. Elkhart, Co. He married Florence M. Shaum on Aug. 5,1939, in Olive Twp. Elkhart Co.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eric (Connie) Hartstein of Elkhart, and Karen Diaz of Oklahoma City, OK; two sons, Ellsworth and Tiny Risser, and Wayne Risser, both of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and (?) great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m.Saturday and Sunday at Reith-Roher-Ehret-Leinhart Funeral Home in Wakarusa. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Olive Mennonite Church. The Rev. Naaman Martin of Shiloh Mennonite Church, the Rev. Paul L. Newcomer of Toto Mennonite Church and the Rev. Lester Otto of Michigan will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Mr. Risser was employed at Williams Products for 15 years and was a machine operator, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Shiloh Mennonite Church in Goshen.

JOHN ROBINSON
John Robinson, aged 78 years, on e of the oldest and most prominent citizens of Milford died Thursday. He had been failing for a number of years. He was formerly a miller. He leaves his wife, 3 sons and 6 daughters. Funeral services will be Saturday Bethel church.

SARAH ROHRER
Mrs. Sarah Rohrer, 95, Oldest Woman In City?
1911
Mrs. Sarah Rohrer of No. 507 Gladstone Avenue enjoys the distinction of being, so far as
is known, the oldest woman resident of this city. She passed her ninety-fifth milestone
last September.
Mrs. Rohrer, who was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Ohio with her parents when she was a young girl. She was married in the Keystone state and soon after that moved to DeKalb county, Indiana, coming to Elkhart about thirty years ago, and has since resided here. Her husband died forty years ago, since which time she has resided with her children. She lives now at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.L. Salmon, at the above address.
Mrs. Rohrer became the mother of ten children --three sons and seven daughters--four of whom are living. The latter are Mrs. Mary Mishler and Mrs. Salmon of Elkhart, Mrs. L. Bowers of DeKalb county and Fred Rohrer of Peru. She has thirty-five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rohrer enjoys unusually good health for one of her extreme age, and is often able to attend services in Goshen Avenue Brethren Church, of which she is a devoted member.

Sarah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Roth of 311 East Lexington avenue, died at the General hospital at 2:30 this afternoon, a victim of convulsions due to uremic poisoning with which she was stricken yesterday afternoon. She was taken to the hospital last evening.
Miss Roth was 16 years old having been born February 8, 1905.
