Was organized in 1817, and contains 432 square miles, and is bounded north, by Daviess and Martin; east, by Orange and Crawford; south, by Perry, Spencer and Warrick; and west, by Pike. Pop. 11,000. County seat, Jasper.

JASPER,
The seat of justice of Dubois county, is situated on Patoka Creek, 4-J miles south-east of Vincennes, 50 miles north-east of Evansville, and 120 miles south-west of Indianapolis. This town was first settled in 1830, and, for intelligence and enterprise, compares favorably with her contemporaries. Population, about 1,000.
