reguarding a Marian Tyler that is buried in your county. Marian
met his
death here in Scott County,
Indiana on December 24, 1898. He was hung by a mob after he was
drug from
the county jail and taken to the east side of the
county courthouse in Scottsburg and hung. He had been in a
dispute with
his estranged wife, Laura Garriott Tyler, and had shot
her in the face and shoulder. She survived the attack. He
accidently shot
himself in the stomach and survived. He was
incarcirated at the county jail for a month and half when a mob
broke
into the jail around 1am and was hanged to his death. After
his death, he was sent back to his parents at Martin's Store,
Hamiliton
County, Illinois. I cannot find that this town still exists. It
is
said that the body was shipped back to Enfield, Illinois. I
cannot find
any record of this town either. I am requesting any information
that
someone may have on Marian Tyler such as his place of burial.
There has been some reseach into the life and death of Tyler, we
just
need information into his burial location to help finish our
study into him. I would appreciate anyone willing to do a little
research
there for me. Thanks in advance.
