   Pittsfield, Illinois, August 27, - Mrs. J. D. Hess and daughter Katherine, are spending several days with relatives at Bellevilee.

   Nell Allen, of Milton, is spending several days with Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Barber in this city.

   Judge D. T. Bradburn has been seriously ill for the past several days.

   Bart Stout has sold his residence property in the south part of town to Mrs. Esther J. Harshman, who recently sold her farm and will move here.

   H. V. Coley left Monday for his home at Taylor, Texas, after spending a several days' visit with relatives and friends in this city and vicinity.

   Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Allen are spending several days in Chicago.

   J. E. Dinsmore spent Monday at Jacksonville.

   Miss Florence McKnight is spending several days in Barry.

   Mr. and Mrs. Martin Nash of Bluffs, spent Sundy with relatives in this city.

   Everett Berry, of Pleasant Hill, spent Sunday with friends in this city.

   Mrs. J. D. Johnson is spending several days with relatives and friends at Perry.

   Mr. and Mrs. George Webster are spending several days with relatives and friends at Bedford.

   R. Lee Eveans spent several days last week at Roodhouse.

   Fred Troutner and J. C. Carr spent Saturday in Quincy.

   Carson Tippetts and little sons spent Sunday with relatives at Meredosia.

   Con. Beatty and family, of Perry, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Duff and family of this city.

   John Shastid of Perry, is spending a few days with relatives and friends in this city.

   The annual Pike County teachers' institute is in session here this week. There is a large attendance.

   Miss Vina Brown is spending several days in Chicago.

   Professor and Mrs. T. c. Moore and little daughter, have returned from an extended visit with relatives at Quincy and Plainville.

   Miss Leila Roads spent several days last week with friends at Roodhouse.

   John Moore of St. Louis, is here for a several days' visit with relatives and friends.

   The Pittsfield Athletics defeated Famur Rivertowns in this city on Sunday and Monday.
