* Alfred S. Pryor was listed in the 1860 Census as single so his daughter may have died the same year as his wife.

** Alfred S. Pryor was a member of the I28th. Illinois Infantry Volunteers during the Civil War. He was discharged in 1863 for Syphilis, a condition that had existed for four years. He may have spent time as a prisoner at Andersonville prior to 1863.

William may have been infected at birth and eventually died of the disease. The two younger girls may have been infected at birth and may have died as a result.

Alfred died of the disease in 1890. He was described as a part-time carpenter and full time drunk who would have "relations" (not the word used) with a snake if it would stand still long enough.

@ The month of Lois and Lewis' marriage has been called into question. The family objected to the marriage due to the age difference. The two were determined to marry and ''arranged" it so that they would have to marry. The month may have been moved to make their first born child legitimate.
