Salathiel Coffman dies

Salathiel Coffman, 91, 235 So. 27th, died Friday evening. He had been a resident of the state since 1909. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Levi, Lincoln.

Salathiel Coffman

Salathiel Coffman, who was born March 29, 1854, near Mt. Morris, Ill., where he grew to manhood, died in Lincoln Jan. 4, 1946.

He came to Nebraska in 1881 where he joined a brother, James B. Coffman, now deceased, and formed a partnership in the farm and livestock business in Gage County. In 1885 he was united in marriage to Lillie M. Mumma. In 1908 he retired from the farm and in 1909 he moved to Lincoln with his wife and two daughters. His wife preceded him in death in 1934 and one daughter, Marian, died in 1945.

The deceased was a member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, and a regular attendant at the Second Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George H. Levi, of Lincoln and a number of nieces and nephews in Illinois and California.
