FATAL OUTCOME TO OPERATION

ORLANDO F. CRILL DIES IN MAYO HOSPITAL AT
ROCHESTER, MINN.

A precarious state of health that had endured for some time induced Orlando F. Crill to go to Rochester, Minn., ten days ago to place himself under the care of Doctors Mayo, noted physicians and surgeons. On their advice he submitted to an operation Saturday which was followed by his death in the hospital early Sunday morning. His weakened condition and lack of normal vitality were instrumental in preventing Mr. Crill from recovering from the shock of the ordeal. The operation was not of more than ordinary delicacy being undertaken to remedy an inflammatory bowel.
The decedent passed the most of his childhood in Ogle County. He was the son of John J. Crill of Monroe Township and remained on the farm with his parents until twenty-two years of age. At that period of his life he purchased his own place and developed it into one of the finest and best improved farms in the Rock River valley. In 1900 he came to Rockford to live.
His marriage occurred in 1873 to Miss. Julia Matthews and the union was blessed with four children of whom three are living, Mrs. H. D. Knowlton, Miss Margaret Crill and Perry A. Crill. The widow (sic Wife) died three years ago.
Mr. Crill attended Grace Methodist Church here and was a member of the M. W. A. Although he had not been actively engaged in business for the past year or so, the deceased was known as a real estate broker and operated for an eastern investment company holding the agency for S. Dakota lands.
The body will be brought here for burial and private services will be held at the house 1322 Elm street, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. F. F. Farmiloe officiating. Interment is to be made in the Westside cemetery. ( Now Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Winnebago Co., Illinois)
