Sullivan Services Tuesday

Mrs. Nellie Kirby Sullivan, 85, 510 8th ave., died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Sullivan was born in Alto township, Lee County, the daughter of Stephen and Ellen Kennedy Kirby.
She was married May 23, 1907 in Lee to John Sullivan, who operated a furniture store and undertaking business in Rochelle for many years. Mr. Sullivan died nine years ago this month.

Surviving are two sons, CHS. Sullivan of Dekalb and Dan of Rochelle; two daughters, Helen and Patricia, at home; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three half brothers, Lawrence Kirby of Rockford, Lucian and Aloysius of California; and four half-sisters Katherine and Mildred Kirby, Mrs. Rome La Perle and Mrs. Theresa Hayward, all of California.

The Altar and Rosary society, of which Mrs. Sullivan was a member for 45 years, held rosary services at the Unger funeral home Monday at 4:30 p.m. The rosary was also recited at 8 p.m. Monday by St. Patrick's Parish.

Mrs. Sullivan was also a member of the Ladies Cathoic Order of Foresters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Thomas Lynam officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery on the south side.
