Hazel LINDSAY Mattison (1895-1979) and sister Etta LINDSAY Mattison (1889-1980) about 1902

\Hazel Lindsay (later Mattison), 1895-1979 and her older sister, Etta Lindsay (later Mattison), 1889-1980 in about 1902. Hazel and Etta were born to Samuel Jacob Lindsay and Nellie (Ward) Lindsay. The photograph was taken by local photographer, Charles L. Curtis who had his photography studio at 114 N. 3rd Street in Oregon.

Hazel was married to Henry Mattison in 1920 and Etta was married to Henry’s brother, Clark (Val) Mattison in 1917. Hazel attended what is now the Truman State University in Missouri and became a nurse. She also did bookkeeping work for her husband, Henry's construction business. Etta worked as a Linotype operator for Ziba and E. D. Landers at the Oregon Republican Reporter for almost 40 years and also taught school for many years.
