Death of James Barden

James Barden was born in Leeds County, Ontario, Canada, December, 1826, and died at his home in Washington Grove, Dec. 5th, 1901, aged 75 years. He came to this state in 1865, and with the exception of about one year in Kansas, has resided continuously in this county until his death. He was a kind hearted man and generous neighbor, always ready to help to the extent of his ability, those in need. He leaves a wife, one son and four daughters; one son having preceded him to the Home beyond. The deceased was an uncle of H.L. and J. A. Barden of this city. The funeral occurred from the late residence at Washington Grove of Saturday last, conducted by Rev. John Roads of the Lighthouse M. E. Church. Interment was made at the Lighthouse Cemetery.
