Jacob E. Sherman, b: Mar. 08, 1836, d: Mar. 03, 1918.

Jacob was born in Marion County, Ohio, was married to Mary C. Bickford at LaPorte, IN., Jan., 04, 1864 and moved to Ogle Co. in 1864. Mary Bickford was b: Mar 20, 1845, the daughter of George Bickford and Maude J. Blanch Bickford, d: Aug. 04, 1929 in Rockford, IL.

He was held in such confidence by his townspeople that for the last twenty five years he has held the position of police magistrate for this city.
