Ogle County Reporter, September 4, 1918, Death of Hiram Boyce

The death of Hiram Boyce, a long time resident of this community, and a veteran of the civil war, occurred Thursday, August 29, at the Soldier's Home near Quincy in which institution he had resided for some years past. Mr. Boyce was stricken with partial paralysis several years ago and had since sustained a feeble condition of health. He was of genial temperament and enjoyed the fraternal esteem of a large circle of friends in this locality. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Abigal Eyster of Oregon and a brother, Newton Boyce of Byron.
