Henry Coffman, Polo Citizen Summoned

Henry Coffman, one of Ogle County’s best known and respected citizens, passed away at his home in Polo, Tuesday, March 27, after several month suffering due to the infirmities of old age. He was one of the early settlers of Ogle County and was identified as one of the most progressive of Polo citizens and one of those persons who are recognized as being of sterling worth to their communities.

Mr. Coffman was a relative of the Coffmans of this place and quite a number attended the funeral, which was held Thursday, March 29.

HENRY COFFMAN, 84, RETIRED FARMER, EXPIRES AT POLO

Polo, Ill., Mar. 28--- Henry Coffman, 84, retired farmer and well known resident of Polo, died late yesterday afternoon at his home, the cause of his demise being old age and complications. He had been confined to his bed for several months. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Bomberger and Mrs. A. M. Johnson, both of Polo, and two sons. Charles D. and T. Weed Coffman, both also of Polo.

Mr. Coffman farmed for many years in this vicinity, retiring from active work about twenty years ago, and coming to Polo to reside. He had live here since then, and was a highly respected and esteemed citizen of this community.

Funeral services will to be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the late home, and at 2:30 o’clock at the Lutheran church, of which Mr. Coffman was a member. Rev. D. Bruce Young, pastor of the church, will conduct the services, and interment will be made in Fairmount Cemetery.
