HENRIETTA S. BEHRENDS

Henrietta Stromberg Behrends, was born in Germany March 12th, 1847, and passed away December 25, 1929, at her home east of Oregon.

At the time of her death she had reached the advanced age of eighty-two year, nine months and thirteen days.

She was united in marriage in her native land with Hike Winterland and came to America in 1880. The family home was made at Kings where a year and nine months later the husband and father passed to the great beyond in the year 1882. To this union were born three daughters and one son, Mrs. P.K. Wiltfang and Mrs. Henry Kutcher of Oregon, Mrs. Ed. Engelkes of Chana and Harry Winterland of Kings.

In the year 1889 she was united in marriage with Behrend Behrends who passed away five years ago.

Besides the three daughters and one son she leaves to mourn her loss one step-daughter, Mrs. Wm. Butterfield of Oregon and one step-son, John Behrends at home, thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of friends. She was a member of the German Reformed Church for many years, from where the funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 1:30 in charge of Rev. Johnson of White Rock. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The family is very grateful to the many friends for the kindness shown them in their hour of sorrow.
