Mt. Morris, March 31—Charles Niman a resident of the Mt. Morris community for more than 70 years and member of a pioneer Ogle County family, died Sunday during the noon hour at his home on North McKendre Ave. Although in failing health for a period of several years with a heart ailment his condition became critical only about a week before his death.

The son of Samuel and Sarah Niman. he was born Nov. 17, 1868, in Pine Creek Township. Mr. Niman farmed in Pine Creek Township and later near Grandview, Wash. He also operated a livery business in Mt. Morris for a few years, and until forced to retire by declining health, was employed at the Kable plant for 15 years. His chief outside interest was Trinity Lutheran Church, of which he was an active member for 25 years. His marriage to Minnie Kable of Mt. Morris occurred Nov. 14. 1900.

He had five children, Dorothy Elizabeth and Hale K. both of Denver, Colo.. Roger C., Everett, Wash., Ruth Marian. Chicago, and Donald of Mt. Morris. Surviving besides these children is his widow. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the pastor. Rev. Alfred Stone in charge, assisted by Rev. Ridell Kelsey of the Methodist Church. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
