PASSING OF VENERABLE
MOUNT MORRIS RESIDENT

The death of Abner Newcomer, aged resident of Mt. Morris, occurred Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Etta Coffman in that village. He was aged ninety-one and had been in failing health for several months. Mr. Newcomer was born December 23, 1839, at Boonsboro, Maryland and was united in marriage to Ella Betebenner, May 22, 1862. She preceded him in death. Surviving are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Etta Coffman, Mount Morris, Mrs. John Fearer, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Collin Puterbaugh, Lanark; Alva, Croton-on-the-Hudson, N. Y., and Otis B., Lanark. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon from the Brethren church in Mt. Morris, Rev. F. E. McCune, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. W. C. Williams, of the Methodist church. Interment in Polo cemetery.
