He had a quite retiring personality but jovial nature and more than all else enjoyed having his immediate family in his home or participating in family reunions with his sons and daughters in their homes of which holidays and birthdays were most frequent.
He was a kind indulgent husband and their married life together was one of mutual respect and observance of the marriage vows taken as young people. During his lifetime he made a host of friends in the communities where he resided.
Grieving his departure is his wife, the six children, 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
