Many thanks to Cheryl Thomas for sharing
this partial transcription of Crisp Cemetery as well as the photos included here. Cheryl had the following to say:
"My husband and I took photos in early August 1990 in Crisp Cemetery. The photos and transcription
given here does not constitute a complete listing of the Crisp Cemetery Burials.
Many stones were weathered or damaged beyond reading, some were already flat on the ground and sinking
into the soil. Many of the metal markers have lost all or part of their letters. I feel certain there are many
more families buried here, particularly Six Family Members, as there were many empty spaces
between existing stones which had the look of gravesites - even though there was no
visible marker.
We returned to the cemetery on June 2, 2002 to do an "impromptu" reading. Some of the markers
we found during our previous visit were no longer in evidence. Some of the metal markers noted
during both visits were from the Woodcock Funeral Home and Danner Funeral Home - I've indicated on
the transcription which belongs to each Funeral Home.
I've included maiden names, spouse names and/or parents names when known and included
the additional information in brackets.
If anyone has additional burials and/or corrections to the information given here, please send same to Shirley.
If a name appears in red, click on the name to bring up a picture of that individual's tombstone.
