INGELS, ADELLA D.

May 13, 1962

Mrs. Adella D. Ingels, 89, of the Hamilton Nursing Home died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday at the nursing home. Born near Chatham, Mrs. Ingels lived in Springfield for the past 33 years and was a resident of the nursing home for the past year. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Three children preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Arthur of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Otis Byers of Chatham; two brothers, Clifford both of Springfield; a sister Mrs. Frank Coulter of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchildren. Services will be at the Smith Funeral Chapel, Dr. Adam Baum officiating. Burial will be in the old Cumberland Cemetery.

DOROTHY DODDS, 26, DIES IN HOSPITAL

Miss Dorothy Dodds, 26 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Dodds, died at 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Johns Hospital. Stricken with streptococci infection a week ago, Miss Dodds was taken to the hospital where she died of pneumonia which followed. Miss Dodd's is a direct descendent of Joseph Dodds who came from Kentucky and settled in what is now Sangamon county March 1, 1818. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Sugar Creek Presbyterian church. The Rev. R. B. Irwin, pastor of the church assisted by Rev. W. S. Neely, pastor of the Auburn Presbyterian church, officiated. Internment was in the Cumberland cemetery. Dodds funeral home in Litchfield directed. Surviving are her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Dodds; a brother, John Jr.; and a sister, Mary Alice. Miss Dodds was graduated from the Auburn Township High school with the class of 1926 ands later served the high school as secretary during the period C. R. Davis was principal here. For the past six years she has been employed by the E. E. Cantrell Insurance Agency of Springfield. She was a member of the Sugar Creek Presbyterian church and of Loto Chapter, order of Eastern Star at Auburn.


INGELS, N. H.

N. H. INGELS, 88, PIONEER, DEAD

N. H. Ingels, pioneer resident of Sangamon county, died at 4:00 o'clock yesterday at the residence of a son, H. G. Ingels, 1053 West Edwards street. He was 88 years and has been a resident of the county since early manhood.

Mr. Ingels was born near Paris, Ky., in 1837. He married Sarah Belle Lockridge in 1860. Six children were born, the following of whom survive: Mrs. G. D. Boone, Sidney, H. G. Ingels, Springfield,; F. L. Ingels, Alton, Jessie N. Ingels, Springfield. In 1905 Mr. Ingels married Harriet Allen, who survives. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

The remains will be removed at 8:30 o'clock tomorrow morning to the residence of the son, 1053 West Edwards street, and at 12:45 o'clock tomorrow afternoon will be taken overland to Chatham, where services will be held at 1:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. Internment will be made in Old Sugar Creek cemetery.
