Directions: From Rte 29, go west at the green marker (9N) for 3/4 mile. The cemetery is located on the right hand side of the road. This is an old cemetery, with most of the burials dating from the middle to late 1800s. There are only a few which date to the early 1900s.

Additional Note: On Sunday afternoon (24 Aug 2003) Stan & Jeanie Lowe with Brianna Boggs & Emily Abbott experienced the pleasant surprise of finding that Canterbury Cemetery in Sangamon County had been cleaned up. This cemetery had been overgrown and unkept for a long time. Thankfully, someone had spent a great deal of time cutting the grass, weeds and small trees and, more importantly, reset several stones - including some large ones which had probably been buried for several decades. Broken stones were carefully laid together piece by piece and others were reset to their proud standing position. Our hats are off to whomever cleaned and restored this cemetery. They have done an excellent job.
