ETHEL STENGEL, ILLIOPOLIS NATIVE DIES IN SPRINGFIELD
Ethel Stengel of 400 E. Canedy died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital. She was born in Illiopolis, daughter of Jacob G. and Mary Mooney Stengel. Prior to her retirement she was manager of IMA Insurance Co. in Springfield for 35 years. She also taught in the Buffalo area.
Surviving are a brother, LeRoy of Auburn; sisters, Mrs. Mary Dempsey of Decatur; Mrs. Lorene Carroll of Belleville and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculiate Conception. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis.
Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
