Mr. Georges was born at Carthage, Mo. The Georges family moved to Springfield from Illiopolis about five years ago. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield. Mr. Georges was a former employee of the Army Corps of Engineers for seven years; vice president of Illinois Road Equipment, Springfield.
He was married to Chloe Mae Bennett, on August 3, 1926. She survives.He also leaves five sons, James, of Yellville, Ark., Robert of Palms, Calif., Eugene, Tempe, Ariz., Dennis, Camp Point, and Edward of Springfield; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Mary Jeanette) Finch, of Illiopolis; sister, Cellestine Roehe of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother Furchin, St. Louis, Mo.; 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Visitation Catholic Church, Illiopolis, Rev. Robert Porter officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis.
