MRS. ELLA DELANEY, 89, DIES IN DECATURMrs. Ella S. Delaney, 89, of Decatur died at 5:40 p.m. last Friday in St. Mary's Hospital after an illness of one year.
Mrs. Delaney, a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, had lived in Decatur for 43 years, coming from Illiopolis. She was a member of the church's Altar Society and the National Council of Catholic Women.She was born Nov. 4, 1869, in Broadwell, a daughter of William and Bridget Ryan Stapleton. She was married to Jeremiah C. Delaney, Oct. 19, 1898, in Illiopolis. He survives.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Miss Helen Delaney, Decatur; a sister, Mrs. John Moosey, Dixon. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.Requiem High Mass was hel at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Church, Decatur. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis.
