Mr. Daily was born Sept. 28, 1895, in Niantic Township the son of Michael and Catherin Phelan Daily. He was a retired farmer and lived in this vicinity all of his life. He married Catherine McGee of Illiopolis on February 11, 1920. She survives.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Naintic and the American Legion in Illiopolis. He served in World War II. In additon to his wife, he leaves one daugher, Mrs. Richard (Delillis) Stoutenborough of Decatur; three sisters, Sarah, Clara and Mrs. Katherine Leonard, all of Decatur; and six grandchildren.Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Church in Niantic. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis.
