CHARLES CONNAGHAN

The funeral of Charles Connagham was held at 11 o'clock Sunday forenoon from the Catholic Church at Niantic. It wa one of the largest funerals ever held from that church, testifying to the high esteem in which Mr. Connaghan was held by the people of Niantic and vicinity.

Mr. Connaghan was a member of the M. W.of A., the member of which marched to the church, preceding the hearse. Father Manuel of Illiopolis, conducted the ceremonies. The casket was covered with lovely floral offerings. The pall bearers were B. W. Durflinger, Thomas Claypool, H. Beall, Richard Henley, Patrick Delaney of Niantic, Peter Mooney of Decatur. Others from Decatur were Mrs. Cantwell and daughter, Amelia, Miss Mame Palmer, John Phelan and Richard Smith, James Connaghan, wife and daughter of Hammond. Joseph Connaghan and wife of Bement and Miss Maggie Phelan of Chicago were also present. The interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Illiopolis.
