He was born in Ireland in 1845 and came to the United States when a small boy. After a few years in New York he came to Illinois and made his home in Sangamon County where he engaged in farming.
He leaves his wife, Rose Blair and the following named children: John, Edward, Charles, Mary and Catherine Blair of Illiopolis; Mrs. J. A. Henebry and Miss Margaret Blair of Plainfield; his brothers, Patrick Blair of Springfield and Edward Blair of Decatur and his sister Mrs. Thomas McGee of Illiopolis. There are eight grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Church of the Visitation in Illiopolis.
