Mr. Blades was born in Minneapolis, Kansas. He married Virginia Hughes January 1, 1930, in Minneapolis, Kan.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, St. John's Episcopal Church, president of Harrison F. Blades, Inc. Electric Contractors and governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association for eight years.He leave his wife; a son Harrison F. Blades, Jr. of Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Blades Minich of Decatur; brothers, Julius E. and Charles E., both of Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren. One sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Burial office and requiem was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Illiopolis. Memorials: St. John's Episcopal Church or the Diabetes Foundation.
