  
John Thomas Rakes (1838-1888) in Marion Co., Kentucky to Benjamin R. and Martha Murrell Rakes. Married Martha Ann Helm on 27 December 1860 and moved to Menard County in the 1880s. Children: Benjamin Thomas, Susan, Martha Ann, John, Elisha Cincinnati, Mary Catherine, William Stanley and Joseph Manley (twins). He died on January 16, 1888 in Tallula Precinct, Menard Co., Illinois. They are both buried in Rose Hill Cemetery at Petersburg, Menard Co., IL. Submitted by Shirley Noel |
