James Amos (1794-1867) and Matilda Fraley Amos (1803-1888). Matilda Fraley was the granddaughter of a Hessian soldier, Heinrich Froelich who deserted in Maryland when the soldiers were being sent back to New York to be shipped home where the Count of Hesse could have sent him out to fight another war. He remained in Maryland and married Margaretha Wilheit. Their son Frederick Fraley married Eleanor McHenry, the daughter of Henry McHenry and Johanna Ogle who was the daughter of a very prominent family. Submitted by Shirley Winn Williams |
