Wheeler.

Joseph B. Wheeler, a well known resident of Murrayville, died Monday morning at 9 o'clock, at the family residence, two miles east of Murrayville at the age of 74 years. His illness had only been of a few day's duration. He was born in the southern part of the state May 5, 1837, and a short time afterwards the family moved to western Missouri. They returned here in 1861 and have always made Morgan county their home. Mr. Wheeling was married to Miss Margaret Fanning September 3, 1863, and they were the parents of six children, three of whom, together with the mother survive: Mrs. Hattie Anderson of St. Louis; Thomas of Capmus, Ill., and Frank, residing at home.

Mr. Wheeler was a veteran of the Civil War, being a member of a Missouri regiment.

The funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. J. A. Biddle with interment at Nortonville cemetery.
